I'll be at 4:30 and esplanade. Look for my teal tent tucked next to a BMW r1100gs - extra dusty!

Btw - why no solo ride? I've logged over 100,000mi solo in 5 countries, and I'm a "girl" ;-)

so yeah... the other two I was riding with have flaked on me and I'm not going to go solo. I've found another group to join as far as campmates etc... but riding is out, at least for this year. maybe I will see you there (doubt it but you never know) unless you know what camp you will be in?

This will be my second burn-on-a-bike. I live in Maryland now but I will be riding from Portland via Crater Lake. droppedbrd send me an email and we'll try to connect at or before the burn.

That goes for any of y'all who want to connect or have any questions about having a bike at the burn.

oh . . . tjvaughn. your bike WILL get dirty. you'll be riding for at least 2 miles thru the alkaline dust and parking it for the duration of the burn. it has been rumored that the dust will corrode your electrics (not in my experience) so dust them with baking soda before if you're concerned.

Advice to tj and anyone else considering taking a bike to the burn:
I've been riding for 13 years. I've done everything I've ever wanted to do, seen everything I've wanted to see, been everywhere I've wanted to go (including a 12,000 mile motorcycle tour of New Zealand this winter) and BURNING MAN IS THE SINGLE MOST FASCINATING, ECLECTIC, WONDERFUL, BROADENING, CRAZY EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD. and no, I'm not a drug user or even much of a drinker, but I felt like I was tripping the whole time!

JUST F*CKING GO!!

Hey Johnny. My best recomendation is to just jump on your bike and start riding. Look at lists to pack, find somebody to help you bring in food and water, and then just do it.
I made the trip last year, at over 2,500 miles, from NC. Best decision I ever made in my life. So yes, it will be worth it.
